-american communities. i am struck by this speech. if mitt romney gets criticized for going to the naacp and using the word obamacare why isn't barack obama criticized for a southern accent. if we are going to talk about pandering. this to me, you are watching somebody who we all know the president doesn't speak like that. she pandering and no one is talking about it. >> we have talked about it a lot on this show how when barack obama is speaking to certain people, whether they are workers at gm plants or black audience he tends to drop his g's and gets from folk i sy. >> in this was the middle of very successful presidential campaign. the media were siding by content to say obama says it, he is race transcending visionary beyond partisan. all this stuff that reporters were saying in 2008, they could have looked at this. it's been on youtube for five years. >> it is not same as 47%. >> why is it not. is it different? >> one difference mitt romney said he was wrong about the 47%. it took him a week. he said, quote, completely wrong. five years later, has president obama adjusted to anything in that

. >> mike: let me get michael in. you're a speech writer and written for a president. how does mitt romney take this great moment and make sthat he next debate? the expectation are going to be sky high on him and poor or low for obama. >> when you take the hill you've got to hold the hill. we've got a preview from president obama what the attack is looking at. that romney is lying in other words, to cover a radical agenda and i think, you know, romney is going to have to responsibled patiently and substantively and turn it to a more aggressive side against obama's record and values. and i think the man who showed up in denver can do that. president obama will be better in the next debate. he could hardly be worse. so, i-- (laughter) >> , but (applause) >> that's like saying the mets mets are going to have a better season, michael. the manner in which he failed in that debate by being passive, dictates thats' going to have to be aggressive and that presents a challenge for the the president. because when he's on the offensive, he often seems petulant. he has a tendency not just to criticiz

time. >> it is probably because obama had a lot of pauses in his speech where mitt romney kept going and going. that is one thing i really did like about his speech is he kept moving on to the next point where obama was a something and pause for a while and then kept going. i really liked mitt romney's presence and how he kept moving onto the next point. i did like also how obama kept asking mitt romney about what his plan is. he never said what his plan is. he just kept saying he has a plan. >> thank you, peter. >> we are going to go to miami, florida. >> romney never gave me an idea on what he was going to do with obamacare. >> you have to hit the volume on your tv. are getting feedback. i am going to move on. sorry about that. next up is a republican from pennsylvania. >> i was very pleased with the debate. i thought it went well. i certainly do think that mitt romney came out ahead. i thought the timing was pretty even. it really finally put everything out there, the differences between them without all of the hype and the spin. i really think it was an excellent opportunity for

that and between the amount of fact checking done on romney's debate speech, i doubt very much the people will take what ryan says at face value. i think there's going to be ruthless fact checking. >> doesn't mean it's not going to be a substantive debate. >> it should be a substantive debate. i think it will be. i'm saying his reputation as a smart thoughtful guy is crumbling. >> do you think that voters will be looking for something specific at the vp debate? >> echoing what chloe said. there will be this desire for fact checking. if we hear a lot about data which is one of the challenges for thursday's debate. while everybody is interested in the economy, most of the polling shows that latino, asians, who expect to be interested in something different are seeing economy as a top issue. i think as latino and asian voters and other minority voters, what we want to hear about what does this data mean to me, to the bottom line. i'd love to see that happen in the debates. the actual voter. how is the dream going to be accessible to be. >> which is what biden does really, really well. >> you know what

, you brought up the libya thing and people aren't interesting. if romney had given a speech, had made the argument that this is part of -- simply a symptom of a larger development of a whole foreign policy in collapse, of the fact that the al qaeda which he was spiking the football for a week. al qaeda is back. we have got a new slogan for biden. which is bin laden dead. al qaeda alive. that was the meaning of all of this you could have attached the libya story. not as a conspiracy or coverup story. you would say the larger argument, the reason they had to cover it up. the reason they had to pretend it was all about a demonstration and video is because they can't admit is completely exploded. so if you create the larger context all the little events otherwise go uns inned especially by the media. you put them in context. would get a headline with al qaeda is back and we're going to be the target number one. >> i have a third point but that's going to have to be next week. >> bill: all right, charles. >> i'm not governor perry. >> bill: factor tip of the day what i'm doing early tomorr
